Eligibility
League age 10-12 (age as of August 31).
Overview
In a word, competitive. The Majors boil down to execution. By this stage, the boys know the rules, the positions and roles, and the mechanics of fielding, throwing and batting. With the foundation in place, it comes down to making plays. Games are high-paced and exciting and, for families and spectators, a far cheaper ticket than Citizens Bank Park.
Coaches still emphasize fun and fair-play. But expectations are higher. Hard work, skill development, and baseball wisdom are high priorities. The division is designed to be both the satisfying culmination of some players' Little League careers and to prepare other players for higher levels of play, including advancement in Little League Tournament play and readiness to move up to play on the 70 foot and, eventually, full 90 foot diamonds.
Season
Player evaluations are typically conducted in late February or early March. Practices typically begin around the end of March. Games typically start in early to mid April and go until early to mid June. Teams play 2-3 games per week - one or two weeknight games (the specific weeknights will vary week to week) and one on Saturday (the Saturday game times will vary from week to week).
Field Dimensions
Pitching distance remains at 46 feet and base-paths at 60 feet.
Game Duration
