The Challenger Division is a program founded in 1989 for kids with physical and intellectual challenges. It offers the full benefits of Little League participation in an athletic environment structured to meet their needs. It should be noted that where possible and with reasonable accommodations, we encourage disabled youngsters to participate in unrestricted league play provided their participation is possible and fair within the standard rules and regulations of Little League Baseball.
The goal of the Division is to allow the players to enjoy athletic and social activity strengthening their self-esteem and providing them the opportunity to develop a sense of teamwork and fair play, which are the hallmarks of the Little League program.
Some of the rules that apply to Little League Baseball have been adjusted to accommodate the Challenger Division.
